PIN Problems Cloud Leadership Vote

Prince George, B.C.-  With one day to go before the Liberal Leadership vote, there is a great deal of concern about   party members receiving the PIN numbers they will need in order to vote.
While the PINs were to be mailed to the eligible party members, some say they have yet to receive their number.
“All of us are concerned,” said Shirley Bond, MLA for Prince George-Valemount. “It’s essential that every member be given the chance to vote, regardless of where they are in the province. We need to make sure members in rural and northern British Columbia have that opportunity. So, working together with our party, we need to make alternate plans if PINs don’t arrive.”

If the PINs don’t arrive in the mail today, there are concerns the help line at the Liberal Party headquarters will be swamped.

One Liberal Party member contacted Opinion 250 yesterday saying he had spent two days trying to track down a phone number to ensure he got his PIN. He says he finally got through by calling 1-888-357-7525 and was issued a PIN yesterday afternoon.

The Party’s existing help line is 1-888-281-8683.

The vote is set for Saturday.

Wow, if they can't even get this right how can we expect them to run a whole province? Mind you ,in my opinion, most of them, are Campbell yes person want to bees...so I doubt much is going to change...
Really this is not a problem. It takes 2 minutes to get your pin when you call the party number.
Go Christy!
my money is on Kevin, he may be too far right, but at least he can win the next election. Christy, I don't think she has enough depth to win against the NDP. De jong will throw his support behind Kevin. Abbot will throw his support behind Christy. Than Christy and Abbot becomes backbenchers. That's my opinion only.

You don't want to be the favorite in a 3-way. Often the way these things go is when the first underdog gets bumped off, their support goes to the other underdog and they win. That's how Stelmach got in in AB. He did one term. He won't be coming back.

But that's assuming fair voting. This "PIN problem" is a fabrication to ensure the shadowy Liberal executive gets their man.
"This "PIN problem" is a fabrication to ensure the shadowy Liberal executive gets their man."

And there is a newsflash that a Martian spaceship full of greenish aliens has just landed on Ness Lake!
These clowns could'nt organize five men doing their business on five toilets. I heard on the news today Pat Belly and Gordo went to the U.S.....for what I might ask....is'nt Gordo off of the taxpayers payroll yet?
What a great selection. The bird, the bitch, the baldy, and the bobble-head. To those who paid $ 10 for the dubious pleasure of voting for one of those four, and have just been cheated out of their chance for want of receiving a PIN in time, count your blessings. There's not a "winner" amongst them so far as BC is concerned.
Lying, cheating, stealing, corruption, and scandal is the liberals specialty.Nothing can stop these guys/gals,they could bullshit there way out of a guaranteed jail sentence.Don,t forget they are the big,bad bully and a majority of BC's citizens are there victims.
Pretty bad when they can't even play fair amongst themselves...
He here is an idea, why didn't tehy issue a memberhip card, on it is their number and they could always add on a pin number..problem solved....
sorry I will go bang my head on the floor, what was I thinking, that would make sense.....and they have had how long to get these pin numbers sent out???
I am now curious to see if the NDP have a similar fiasco..
I personally think it is time to get rid of the parties totally... vote in someone you want because of who they are not who they supposedly represent, once they get there they can choose a chairperson, premier if you like...and get to work.
there I go, making sense again....
BCRacer, not a good idea! The card with the membership number and the PIN number gets lost or stolen! Anybody can use it and vote illegally!

You wouldn't want YOUR PIN number printed on your credit/debit card!

As for your other question:

The NDP will not have any such problems as it would never allow individual members to cast a direct democratic vote, such as this one.
Private companies influencing our elections with shadowing 'problems and glitchs'.

It is just absurd that our next premier would be chosen in this way by the choice of one party special interest using a private vote counting process beyond the scope of Elections BC. The province is bigger than the BC liberal party.

A failed process that is a side effect of the failed party politics we have our government captive too.

When a premier steps down we should have an election. That is the only vote where the whole province decides on who will rule our province. The premier position has far too much power as it is currently constituted to leave it to the whims of shadowy private vote counting companies.
