Prince George, B.C. - Today marks the end of alpine skiing at the 2011 Winter Games in Halifax, and the final competitive event for local skier Alix Wells...

Wells raced the Super-Combined yesterday and bettered her finish to 15th spot, after placing 17th in the Giant Slalom on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old has had a remarkable season - after breaking her leg playing soccer in June, she had expected this year to be a 'recovery'one, but was first in the provincial standings when picked for Team BC in mid-January.

Meantime, on the cross-country ski course at Ski Martok yesterday, 21-year-old Prince George athlete Matt Neumann raced in his last individual event - coming in 15th in the 15km Classic.  Neumann had a 5th place finish in the 10km Free, and ranked 23rd in the 1000m Sprint.

Tomorrow, he'll wrap up his time at the games by racing for Team BC in the 4x5km Relay.
