Council Sets Stage For Community to Community Forum

Prince George City Council has approved planning a "Community to Community Forum" to be held in Prince George some time this summer.
The forum, says Communications Manager Christine Russell, would involve representatives from the City, the Regional District of Fraser Fort George, the Lheidli T'enneh and members of the Prince George Treaty Advisory Committee and Federal and Provincial negotiating teams.
With a total cost of $12,000, Russell says its hoped the Province will fund half the costs of the event. The balance being shared by the three hosting agencies with the City's $2,000. share alrady included in the Corporate Management budget submission.
In her request to Council Russell outlines the object of the forum is to "reflect on the best practices established over the past six years and allow for discussion on the numerous successes that have resulted on our collarborative and co-operative approach to Treaty Settlement efforts."
