Prince George, B.C.- Today is the final day of voting for the Conservative candidate nomination process for the Prince George-Peace River riding.

Prince George is the last stop on the ballot box tour, and the process will wrap up at the Ramada Hotel tonight.

It is generally believed the person who wins the nomination will represent the riding in Ottawa as this has been a solid Conservative seat for 40 years,   eighteen years with Jay Hill, and 22 with Frank Oberle.

The seven candidates vying for the right to represent the party in the next federal election are (in alphabetical order):  Dan Davies, Don Irwin, Colin Kinsley, Jerrilyn Schembri, Les Shurtliff, Cameron Stolz, and Bob Zimmer.

The meeting this evening will start at 6:00 with the first hour set aside for speeches from each of the candidates. Then, Party members will have two hours to cast their ballots.

It is likely to be late tonight, or very early tomorrow before the final results are known. The successful candidate will have to attain 50% plus one in order to be declared the winner.
