Unemployment Rates Released

Prince George, B.C.- Unemployment in Prince George was   5.7 % in February, less than half of the 12.5% mark recorded in February of 2010.
 
For the Cariboo region, a similar story with unemployment at 7.5% last month compared to 11.6% in February 2010. Job gains were made in manufacturing, transportation and warehousing.
 
Provincially, the rate inched upward to 8.8%, that’s 1.1% higher than February of last year.
 
Nationally, the rate was unchanged at 7.8% compared to February of 2010.
