Prince George-  Police are advising the Public that there has been an inordinate number of theft from motor vehicles overnight. The majority have occurred in the Foothills and 15th Ave. area, however there has been a total of 12 that have been reported today, March 11th. Thieves are stealing anything of value, from  CD's to shotgun shells and sump pumps. Anything electronic is, of course, stolen immediately.
Police remind the Public to make sure anything of value left in a vehicle is out of sight, either covered or placed in the trunk of the vehicle.

If you have any information about this or any other Criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously call CRIME STOPPERS at 1(800)222-TIPS (8477), or just go on line at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca

Leave nothing of value in your vehicle, secure the steering wheel with a good quality 'club' and do not lock the doors.
Leave two bucks on the seat for them to find, maybe they will leave a thank you note.
Maybe even post a sign on both sides "not locked, nothing of value inside"
Or, and this is my favourite, leave lots of valuable looking goodies out in plain view, and hide nearby, armed with a club.
You can guess the rest..........
metalman.
metalman: Hey, good idea! Maybe neighbourhoods could set up their own 'bait' cars and take care of the problem themselves then drive the perps way out of town on a deserted road and let them think about it while they walk back. No 911, no police, nobody the wiser except maybe the perp!
But you have to take their Id,wallet and cell phone away and call the RCMP with it,threaten them, verbally abuse them, tell them you're going to kill your girl friend and leave her down town in an alley. Leave the phone at their address on their ID. If GPS is turned on--that's even better.
"let them think about it while they walk back"

You'd let them walk back?
Look at all the internet tough guys in this here redneck town.
