Time to get rid of the HST crusty. People have had enough of it. BTW what you gonna do if you LOOSE the byelection? If you were running in my riding I would vote for anything but you. I hope thats the case in gordos riding. Get rid of HST and you will do good. Keep it up and you will be gone, just like gordo.
I agree.
Her survival depends on dumping the HST.
Keep it...and she is done, without ever having gotten started.
The unfortunate thing is, even if she was to loose the next election, she has already secured herself a nice fat pension just because she has had the title of Premier. We have Prime Ministers and Premiers in the country who barely got settled in before getting the boot who now draw huge pensions for the rest of thier life. And I wouldn't be at all surprised that even after they are gone they can will it to continue to a beneficiary.
Get over the HST people. We will find out soon enough when the people of BC decide what they want through the referendum. I for one do not want to see the tax reverted back to the PST and GST. Learn before you vote at http://www.hstinbc.ca/
attention pg rednecks

it's " Lose" not "Loose"

it's " Lose" not "Loose"

Wrong.... The issue seems to be the HST. And no the people are not going to ""Get over it"" No. That was what gordo thought, that people will just get over it. Well we will not. And the referendum will win. The website refered to above is nothing but lies. Spin doctors hard at work on our dime. The things written there I do not believe. Some may be true but it's mostly hogwash. Trying to justify these elites to make you pay thier taz bill for them. I am going to attend the vote. I will be voting to get rid of HST. I agree with the 2 comments above. If Clark refuses to dump HST the voters will dump her. The HST started all this nonsnse in the first place. It is why gordo no longer >represents< us. So Clark is in for the same thing I would estimate. What do you all think?
I would far more wish they will get rid of the useless and hated carbon tax. Bad enough the gas companies are putting it to us and now tacking on the stupid carbon tax .This tax is more maddening than the HST.
Hey, anyone wanna go see Gordon in drag???
"suzir - The website refered to above is nothing but lies."

And where do get your FACTS from? You seem very sure that HST is bad but do not base your opinion on any facts. You say the whole website is lies with no proof. You even admit later that there are some things factual on the website. So what you sound like to me is someone who has made an impulsive decision and will not be swayed by fact. And they let you vote??
wow.... apparently stupidity is contagious.
"If Clark refuses to dump HST the voters will dump her"

We have not heard from the NDP yet on what they want to do with the HST. So far, while James was still leader, they did not say they will get rid of it.

Let's see what the new leader will say.

Then, of course, if we do get rid of it, they will reinstiture the PST. On top of that, they may put the PST on several new items. The NPD could do that as well.

And, of course, the NDP will increase taxes all around in order to get some of the programs in that have been cut back or have found other ways of surviving.

Back and forth. Back and forth .... like the tides of the ocean. That is all it is folks, no more no less. 50 % think it is best one way, 50% think it is best the other way .... the 10% swing vote who move back and forth are always the deciders of which way the pendulum swings the next time.
If I remember correctly, wasn't it the NDP that suggest to implement the HST when they were in power?
Gus, you are correct, their always is a loyal 30% that will vote NDP. There is always a loyal 30% that will vote for the right hand side. it is a matter of capturing the 40% of the voters to get out there and vote.
But says: "And I wouldn't be at all surprised that even after they are gone they can will it to continue to a beneficiary."

Ah! Now I finally understand why the BCNDP had 4 premiers in 10 years!!! Harcourt, Clark, Dan Miller and Ujjal Dosangh!

According to YOU (and I never suspected that it was so) they are ALL collecting huge benefits and pensions after "serving" just for a very short period time!!!

Nice going how they sneaked that cr*p by us unsuspecting sheep! It just goes to show that when it comes to MONEY they are all the same pigs at the trough which the working stiffs keep full!

wow people are stupid
Anyone who defends the HST is either a Liberal lap dog, or a business or corporate stooge who is benefiting from this tax. I suspect that most people on this site know diddly squat about the HST or what it applies on.

Most people shoot from the *lip* and repeat what they hear on the radio, tv, or in the bar room, and do very little research. Thats why the Government can give them the ultimate **snow job** any time they choose.

Common sense should tell you that if you give business and corporations a $1.9 Billion dollar tax break, and transfer this tax to consumers, you are being **screwed**

This tax has been in effect for 9 Months and I defy anyone of you **supporters** to give some specifics as to where prices have been reduced, or where jobs were created. The reason you will not be able to do this is because it hasnt happened, and will not happen.

HST supporters have been conned, and they dont even know it.

I will tell you again. Consumers will pay an additional $1.9 Billion a year. Business and Corporations will laugh all the way to the bank.

The HST rebate paid to lower income people will be paid for from the tax collected from the higher income people. The only reason for the rebate is to replace the additional money spent because of the HST. If the HST is removed there is no longer a need for the rebate.

Time for people to wake up and smell the roses.,

We need to get rid of this tax, and then go after all levels of Government to reduce spending and taxes. Time for them to take on some responsibility or get out of the game.
