Finance Minister Carole Taylor will deliver her budget this afternoon. She is expected to start delivering the details of her spending plan at about 2:45.
What should we expect?
If we take any direction from the Speech from the Throne, Health care is expected to dominate.
There could be some news on the provincial sales tax, as the province has held round table discussions throughout B.C. over the past couple of months.
With most of the public sector contracts up for renewal, there may be some direction on where we may head on that front. There are hopes for new dollars for Children and Families following years of cutbacks and recent upheaval in that Ministry.
Look for increased spending to promote the Gateway to the Asian markets, tourism dollars, funding committments for education, particularly as it applies to First nations Students.
It is also expected the Minister will talk of the robust economy, and the challenges faced because of the mountain pine beetle.
