Huge failure of leadership so far on this issue. The ball was dropped, and one can only hope the momentum can be reversed without a lot of undue bloodshed.
Not really, this is an internal Libyan matter. It is being treated as such by other governments as it should.

Until the "rebels" are recognized as legetimate representatives of the population at least by the UN, there will be no intervention.

At first, the "rebels" insisted on not allowing external forces from interfering.

What they have requested is sealing the border and leveling the playing field with a no fly zone over the country. That is all the international community should do other than providing humanitarian aid such as treating the sick, wounded and hungary.
