If they would make this stuff legal, like booze and gambling, the RCMP would be able to spend time going after real criminals like murderers and rapists.
OMG, Fraser Lake's got a gang. Call 'em
The Geritol Hoods.
ya no doubt let the rapists walk free while some 60yr old pot head is in jail lol
Senior Citizen Soldiers
legalize the stuff -been sayin that for years .easy pickins 'bustin doppers'. the law aint going to win this one ,like the americans in Nam . but i guss if that happened we would have to lay off more cops-rehab joints would do well though.
Unfortunately, this is where it starts. We the general public finds it acceptable for a person to smoke a joint. and be a bit stoned over it. Thus, its not hurting no one but one self, so whats the big deal. Now multiply it by 5,000 people in this town smoking a joint every 2nd day. Now all of a sudden we are going thru a dime bag each month, or should we be looking at a couple of hundred pounds every month, or over a ton a year. There is a lot of money flowing around to feed the local market.

The reality of it is, most of the pot that is grown here is heading south, to feed the bigger market place and or state side.
Its bigger than forestry, I wonder if it falls under NAFTA

Someones got to be pissed about these grow op busts that have been happening. 90 pounds of weed has got to be worth a fair bit of money at street level, and I would imagine that 392 plants would yield a few pounds of wacky tobaccy too.
I generally agree with the popular notion of legalising marijuana, mainly because it should take the gang aspect out of the equation.
metalman.
Getting sick and tired of these righteous souls who think its okay to smoke dope, feed the local economy etc.
Every time you buy a joint you or your friends or neighbors are supporting the local gangs and who gets the money in the end? The gangs profit as well as the Hells Angels.
So don't go saying you don't like gangs and want to rid our town of them if you're a dope smoker, because you keep on buy'in, they'll stick around. Could be your friend who gets caught in the crossfire next time something goes down.
slim if pot was legal gangs wouldnt make money from it!!! and our country would not have to spend millions on pot enforcement we could use that money to crack down on REAL drugs...and tax the pot, and maybe get some doctors!!!pot probibition is just a waste of tax payers money....If i grow a plant in my back yard and then smoke it who does it hurt?
People that are addicted to any kind of drug use will say and do anything to justify their addiction and feel they are in the right simply due to the altered state of mind that comes from the drug use and they are unable to recognise that what they say or do is wrong from having that altered state of mind in the first place.
The problem with big marijuana farms is that it funds organised crime which entails buying and distribution of crack cocaine, prostitution, human trafficking, the list goes on. If we want the missing people and murders and crack and heroin ......and other things to stop in BC we have to start shutting down the big potfarms that are used as baseline funding for all the rest. I would think that if people want to use marijuana, they should learn to grow just a few plants of their own in private like brewing homebrew beer, rather than going out and buying it from established dealers that fund criminals. this is just the begginning of the cleanup in BC, people better shut down growing and the dealing of any drugs while they still can. This is about the only forewarning people are going to get. Its cleanup time, either adjust or go bust.
CWS: the only problem with the forewarning is dopeheads aren't gonna tell PO-lice where the growops are even if they got an idea.
They keep funding them by buying the stuff.
Not gonna be anytime soon that they're gonna legalize it, so the gangs are going to keep selling to our kids in school, out on the street and some parents condone it, so whatcha gonna do.
When the kid starts on Meth or Crack, only then will you realize maybe there's a problem. Keep buying it people, keep the gangs here, or find something legal and dry the gangs up.
if you realy want to look at a problem look at alcohol, its one of the worst drugs out there its been the best destroyers to humans and we dont do a thing about it except let it happen. there has been more damage caused by booze then any other drug in noth amarica and perhaps the world. why is this acceptable and not weed. has anybody got a real answer for this.oh the government collects taxs the christians think because God drank wine ,booze is OK. and by the way i dont drink, smoke and go to church sometimes
People are just going to continue arguing about this until the situation has gone past the point of no return and society can't get a handle on it.From what I have observed over the years from the heyday of Pablo Escobar to today, where it's open warfare in the streets everywhere, that it's pretty obvious "just say no to drugs" and everything since, has failed to curb or limit the problem. It is time for a "new" strategy,by allowing small amounts of marijuana to be possessed for personal use.I benefit nothing by saying this, and I know how much destruction drugs can do to peoples lives. This has gotten to a situation where one can say it is broken and needs fixing.Society is losing this battle and it is becoming evident that governments will not have the resources to continue with policing, treatment, etc. in order to overcome the organized crime and gangs.Just my opinion on the matter.
well said.
If you drink and try to drive, you are impaired. If you smoke a joint or do any other drug, you are impaired too. Do you really want to be driving around a whole lot of impaired drivers? I know I don't. Don't know about you others but I like to have a clear mind for whatever I'm doing.
