One of the two RCMP officers under a cloud of suspicion over possible involvement with young prostitutes in Prince George will face a disciplinary tribunal. The second officer has been allowed to return to duties, and will face no discipline.
The Crown had decided late last fall there wasn’t enough evidence to proceed with criminal charges.
The results of the internal investigation were passed to the Deputy Commissioner of the RCMP, Beverley Busson.
After reviewing the files, the Deputy Commissioner has decided one officer could return to work without facing any possible disciplinary action. The other remains suspended with pay until a tribunal is held.
The accusations against the two surfaced following the Judge David Ramsey case. Ramsey was sentenced to 7 years for his involvement with young prostitutes in Prince George.
A tribunal will be open to the public; will involve three commissioned officers from a detachment other than the one where the officer was stationed.
There has been no date or location set for that tribunal.
