The Prince George Construction Association  is holding its second career fair, hot off the heels of the Provincial government promising to pump more money into the apprenticeship programs and into  trades training.

The Province has announced it willset aside $90 million dollars in tax credits over three years for businesses  that hire apprentices.  There will also be $39 million spent over three years into the industry Training Authority so it can grow the apprentice programs to 35 thousand participants.

About 1500 grade ten students will be bussed directly to the John Brink trades and Technology Centre today.  They willbe the first wave of students to go through the new centre and see the different options inchoosing a career in the Construction trades and beyond.

The trade fair  is also a time for adults to seek out  career options , and this year,  there will be a focus on foreign trained new Canadians to attend and explore the the opportunities, advantages and requirements of  trades training.

Students from  grades 11 and 12  will visit the centre on Thursday.
