Did P.G. Honour Earth Hour?
By 250 News
On the left, P.G. looking south from 3rd Avenue at 8:30 p.m. Friday March 25th. On the right, same view taken Saturday March 26th at 8:30. when Earth Hour was to start.
Prince George, B.C.- Take a close look at the photos. You might think we made a mistake, that the one on the LEFT was taken during Earth Hour. Sorry, but the one on the left, was taken on Friday night, at the same time as the photo on the right which was taken as Earth Hour got underway in Prince George.
The photo on the left, clearly shows Duchess Park school in the dark on Friday night, but, all aglow on Saturday. Same story for the University Hospital of Northern B.C.
How successful was Earth Hour in Prince George?
We don't know, because B.C. Hydro doesn't know.
As we reported yesterday, B.C. Hydro is using equipment to measure the changes in electricity use, equipment that is not in use in Prince George. So while B.C. Hydro can say Tumbler Ridge shut down the lights and electricity use in that community dropped by nearly 5%, there is nothing to indicate what, if any, changes happened to the flow of electricity in Prince George during Earth Hour.

ANYONE can take two pictures and make one lighter than the other to 'prove' that one has more lights...
What hogwash... And who cares if the power was on anyway... Sitting in the dark is what caveman did. We are smart enough to generate electricity, so it should be used to ENRICH our lives, not for a 'cause' to show how pathetically self-loathing we have become!
Go scream at a volcano if you believe that humans are the #1 source of 'global warming' Tell the volcano that it should pay for the carbon credits that it needs to offset the GHG's that are spewed from it erupting!!
Grab a brain, people.
