Prince George, B.C.- The candidates for the Federal Election are getting their election machinery in gear and you can expect to see election signage springing up throughout the Prince George-Peace River and Cariboo-Prince George ridings this week.

Two of the candidates in the Prince George –Peace River riding were quick to issue statements about their   platforms .

New Democrat candidate Lois Boone was  quick to issue   her three point platform over the weekend. She says she will  work to make life more affordable for Northerners by fighting to overturn the HST.

Secondly, she will work to protect and create jobs, and the third point is to “fix Ottawa” by pushing to abolish the appointed Senate.

Conservative candidate Bob Zimmer stands behind the campaign which won him the nomination in the riding. He says he will work towards   reducing the deficit and debt, reform the justice system,  reduce waste and work towards right sizing government.

The Green candidate for the riding is Hilary Crowley, the Liberal candidate has yet to be formally announced.

Wow, Lois why not say your also going to find a cure for cancer, eliminate the GST as well, and ensure that the Leafs will win the cup in 2012.
I guess, the local Liberal Party, thought the budget was gonna pass.
Zimmer doesn't appear to have any thoughts of his own. Those are all from Steve. Maybe Steve and Bob have formed an alliance.
Oops, silly me. That should read COALITION not alliance. Just got to get this political spin right the first time.
it is very interesting, the older I get, more interesting politic becomes.

Me too He spoke. By the time I reach 100 I might be able to make sense of it all.
HST is a Provincial Jurisdiction. Someone should tell Lois that she is running for the Federal Government. Wonder why she wouldnt know that????? Is she going to vote on the Provincial Referendum to get rid of the HST, because thats the only difference she can make.

I suspect she knows that she can do nothing about the HST, however she's hoping that there are people out there who do not know the difference, and who will vote for her because of that statement.
Is she misleading voters?? I would say yes.
I really wish a there was someone else to vote for I am tired of of Bob.
