The Prince George Cougars will look to pull off what the Kelowna Rockets did in last year's opening round of the WHL Playoffs, presented by Kal Tire and Husky Mohawk.  The Cougars are home for games 3 and 4 of their Kal Tire Western Conference Quarter Final series with the Rockets down two games to nothing, the same hole the Rockets faced last year to the Everett Silvertips before coming back to win in seven games.

The scores through the first two games of the series haven't been a true indicator of how games 1 and 2 unfolded at Prospera Place in Kelowna last Friday and Saturday.  Although the Rockets won by scores of 4-1 and 7-4, respectively, the Cougars were tied heading to the third period in game 1 and leading 4-3 after 40 minutes in game 2.  But the Rockets have out-scored the Cougars 7-0 in the third period of the series, with two empty net goals, to take a 2-0 series lead.

The Cougars have been led offensively by defenceman Sena Acolatse and forward Greg Fraser, both with three points.  Acolatse had a goal and two assists in game two and Fraser had a pair of assists in the second game, making Fraser the only Cougars player to record a point in each of the first two games of the series.  The Rockets Shane McColgan leads all scorers with five assists through two games.  The Cougars are still evaluating Captain Brett Connolly, still day-to-day with an upper body injury.  Connolly has not played since early in the first period of game 1.

Game 3 starts at 7:00pm at CN Centre, with game 4 Wednesday at the same time.  Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.

Unless brodsky starts putting the team first than family this is what we will expect each and every year. How many coaches have we gone through in the past 10 years and same GM yet nothing to show for other than disapointment. I think Mr Brodskey should maybe start thinking about putting the team first for once than trying to believe his son-in-law is still the answer to building a winning team but so far year after year it's proven he can't and Brodsky should really think about parting ways with thompson as being the GM and maybe send him to his other team he owns in Texas which is the Wichita Falls Wildcats, A real owner of a team will start looking at the GM position if things don't improve after countless seasons with coaches. Well the past 10 years shows thompson can't do it and needs to be replaced, If he was smart enough to pick up a GM with a record you can't deny and give him full control of coaching and team management we might believe something huge will happen maybe a winning team better players like what we did in the past but I'm not saying our team is no good but with a little better scouting than what thompson is doing will help a lot. Maybe switching up the GM and replacing thompson may not change what PG feels for brodsky but could praise him for finally making a good call on parting ways with his son-in law as a GM that could bring more fans back to the game. Ownership means nothing he's never around anyways so bring on a new GM and a coach the GM wants to have and try something new. I keep dreaming and when I wake up and realize that will never happen. So why bother? All I'm saying it's time for Brodsky to realize He needs to part ways with his son-in-law as a GM and and find a New GM.
Mr. Brodsky is, I suspect, first a businessman, second a hockey fan.
I can only conclude that regarding the Prince George Cougars, he is doing what he thinks is right for the business. At least the fans get to see some of tomorrow's NHL stars play good hockey right here at home, and a seat is really quite inexpensive to rent for an evening.
