Prince George, B.C. - Police throughout the province are on the watch for a suspect wanted in connection with the attempted abduction of a 20-year-old woman in Kamloops...

Kamloops RCMP Staff-Sergeant Grant Learned says the young woman was driving along a city route when she noticed a pick-up truck pulled over to the side of the road near the entrance to the Valleyview Arena, at 1:40am yesterday morning.  Learned says the truck had its emergency lights on and, as the victim drove closer, a man came out of the driver's side and flagged her down.

The young woman got out of her vehicle and approached the truck to offer assistance.  The RCMP spokesperson says, "Within seconds of asking the man if he needed help, he grabbed the woman and began forcing her into the open door of his truck."

Learned says the victim fought back by punching and kicking and managed to kick the man in the groin as she was more than halfway into the truck.  The suspect lost his grip and the victim broke free, ran to her car and fled the scene.  The Staff-Sergeant says upon arriving at her home, the young woman was concerned about waking and upsetting her family and police were not notified until yesterday afternoon.  He says she did not receive any serious physical injuries during the ordeal.

The suspect is described as a caucasian male between 60- to 70-years-old, with white long hair, kept neatly combed behind his ears, a white bushy beard down to his collar bone, and a darker coloured 'uni-brow'.  He's believed to be 5'8", and 190-pounds.  He was wearing a grey sweater, black jeans and cowbow boots.

The pick up truck is described as a 1992 Dodge Dakota pick-up with Alberta licence plates.  The exterior is gold, with a blue-grey interior and a DeeZee brand tool box in the back of the truck.

RCMP throughout BC have been alerted to the incident and the suspect and vehicle descriptions.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops City RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS

Pretty good description, should be easy to catch.
One more reminder to all women who travel alone. DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE. EVER, Just don't do it.
And had she called 911 right away, they may have actually caught him.

Afraid of waking and upsetting her family....? Seriously? I wonder if this guy managed to grab another victim while she slept it off and allowed her family to sleep in?
