I was falsely told by the Ford dealer that these trucks can't be started without the chipped key. Sounds like I was lied to again by Ford. They have a bad habit of lying to me about various things, including repairs.
The chips for Ford F-150 pickups came in around the year 2000. The Super Duty pickups it was later than that. Might be around 2004.

Anyway, I'm looking through the write up in the story above and I don't see any mention of the model year for the Ford trucks so did they lie? I doubt it.

Even though I own a truck with a chip in the key I also still use a club on my steering wheel and never leave valuables in my truck. Never had a problem. Like ICBC always says, a good chunk of the people that break into vehicles will look for an easy target.

Will this smarten up some drivers out there that just leave stuff in plain sight and don't lock there vehicles? Hopefully.
It certainly isn't the fair city I moved to 30 years ago? What happened?... why isn't it getting better? Where's the leadership...why aren't the politicians at every level fixing this?
Wheres that Frankie Meerholz??
