Terrace, B.C. – There will be no criminal charges recommended in the tragic death of a Terrace teen who died under strange circumstances earlier this year.

Fifteen year old Bradley Levesque died back in January shortly after playing a punching game with a friend at a party.

RCMP say the autopsy showed no significant findings and no “anatomic cause” of death. The forensic pathologist who conducted the examinations concluded that the likely cause of death is a condition known as commotion cordis. It’s a condition in which a lethal heart arrhythmia, ventricular fibrillation, is triggered after a blunt impact to the chest. Officials say the condition is most common in sports that involve projectiles like hockey or baseball.

RCMP investigators say their probe of the matter has determined that no criminal charges will be recommended to crown.

Police have said that the host of the party where the incident occurred has been issued a notice to appear under the Liquor Control and Licensing Act for permitting a minor to consume liquor in a place under their control.

Bradley Leveque’s death triggered a plea from his grandmother Ali Wheeldon for his friends to honour him by stopping the punching game.
