Once again PG makes headlines for something negative. I will stay away from the obvious comments and questions and go another route.
The Ministry is spending how much money on this kid?
One child, three caretakers.
One house, gas, electricity, food, medication, clothing, vehicle expenses, therapy sessions, activities and more.
If he is 11 now they will continue care for another 7 years and kick him loose at 18.
I have to wonder if the Ministry could have spent far less money 5 or 6 years ago and prevented the whole situation.
That would depend entirely on what the condition of the child is and what caused him to have the condition.

This whole thing has made me curious about the condition, how common it is, whether such individuals cannot be located in a group environment or whether there are simply no others with a similar need in PG.

There are many relatively common conditions which may lead to violetn behaviour in extreme cases. Autism as well as ADHD are two such conditions. However, we do not know what the problem with the 11 year old is.

The main point is that so many on here feel that this child is a child that is under complete control over what he does. I suspect that is likely not the case.
Happy Friday folks. Have a good weekend!
I think in most cases this election, and most in recent memory, are all about name brand politics.

Name brand politics mostly by and for corpocracy and public sector union inside interests fighting it out to see who can perjure the public to the greatest effectiveness.

We are sold a brand, whether it be a name or a slogan, and in a casino sport approach that fails to inform its citizens of the specifics in a way so as to handicap democracy of its ability to function as a reflection of the informed consensus will of its citizens.

The parties and its candidates fail their fiduciary duty to our country the more they contribute to this with their cheep brand political signs and negative attack politics, rather than informing hope in strengths and opportunities of the nation, and cautioning to real issues of weakness and threats relevant to the country more so than each other.

People go the polls armed with little more than name recognition, right-verse-left thinking, or worst of all blind party loyalty... but very few if any in some cases go to the polls with a clear idea of what their vote really means. We and our country are all worse off for it... the only ones that benefit are the culture of corruption and self serving politics.

In business, or any other area of our lives, we all have to sign disclaimers before submitting our consideration. For any valid contract it requires three elements... the offer, the acceptance, and the consideration.

In democracy the offer is the call for an election to hear the views of the various candidates.

The acceptance of that offer is the nomination of the candidate and not the presumed vote on election day. The vote on election day is the consideration, which represents an exchange of value... the marking of the ballot with ones limited vote of support in exchange for an expectation the candidate will honor their contract with those that exchanged their vote based on... based on what is the question we all need to ask....

Is the acceptance to be nominated simply a matter of having red, blue, or orange signs on the side of the road... or is it the third party selling of a slogan, others who speak on behalf of the candidate selling words of influence? How does the vast majority of those that vote really know what they are voting for... and if not an informed vote, then how is that democracy?

This is a critical issue in light of an election called due to the contempt of Parliament where our elected MP's are not even respected (by hidden party powers) with the information they require to represent us.

I think we need a disclaimer to be signed prior to our vote. A disclaimer that states one has viewed each candidates policy document (acknowledging the candidates acceptance to the offer of the election). An honor system that sees those that sign the disclaimer and have not viewed each candidates policy document would merit the look of disgust by their fellow citizens.

The idea that if you are seen on facebook wearing a liberal t-shirt you can't go to a conservative rally is simply an affront to democracy. What we need is citizens that are informed of their options relative to the candidates they have to choose from. Making silos in politics undermines the very fabric that our democracy relies on to represent the true will of the informed people.

I think each candidate should by law be required to have a policy document that details the basics of the individual candidate (and not the party) like place of birth, marital status, occupation, education, and criminal record... but then also a detail of the actual policy (from the candidates perspective) that they advocate, which would detail the genus of their political beliefs in less than a thousand words. It should be online as well as in paper format available at election centers outside of where the actual vote takes place.

A voter would then sign the disclaimer acknowledging they have read all the various candidates policy documents prior to their vote.

This does a number of things... sure it informs the voter (or gives the real opportunity to inform the voter) prior to giving their consideration to seal the deal... but more importantly it signals a mandate for those that are elected that is spelled out in contract to a specificity that they can then be held accountable for.

This idea of a contract between the citizen with their vote, and the elected members of parliament, would focus politics more around personal accountability of our elected officials... and it would lower the practice of elections of fear and misrepresentations and the politics of perjury by candidates (ie BC Rail, BC Hydro, HST, Senate reform, no bid F-35 contracts, pay raises for politicians ect, ect, ect), lowering the politics of perjury by their parties, and the various actors speaking on behalf of political forces... the idea of brand politics would begin to loose its grip on power.

A report on the CBC this morning tells us that Canadians spend an average of 20% more for goods than Americans do on similar products. No surprises there.
At least we get to vote against more political parties than they do.
Vote early and often!
my bitch for today gas stations that are self serve only what about the handycap was told by an attendent at the mohawk on the hart theres a call button they can push to get help hello i'm handycaped cant get out of my car guess ill have to carry a long stick to push that button to get help
"A report on the CBC this morning tells us that Canadians spend an average of 20% more for goods than Americans do on similar products"

First ... Canadians are Americans too. As are Mexicans. At least the Mexicans have ti right. They are called the United States of Mexico.

Secondly, we all know the citizens of the United States are cheap.

Have a great day ..... :-)
my bitch...Mohawk in the Hart got rid of their full service and are only self serve as of April 1...more jobs lost. I only support full service gas stations so after many years of buying all my fuel at the Hart Mohawk, I am now going to buy else where. Keep those kids pumping gas employed! And yes, you are right sabi. What are the handicap supposed to do? And the elderly too? And there are many people like myself who don't know or want to check our oil. I depending on them for that too and filling the washer fluid and all the rest of the great little perks of having a cheerful attendant servicing my truck when I pulled in. Many times, I'd go into the store too for various purchases. Too bad Mohawk. You just lost all my business and I'm sure many others too.
When will the few brainless people in this town quit wasting water, watering their snowbanks?
The Turbo gas stations are still full serve. 15th and Foothills and by the Hart mall. Usually go to the the one on Foothills. The bathroom is the cleanest in town.As I run a mobile business that is important for me. No I don't work for Shell or Turbo.
Good plug for the Turbo stations, in my experience, both offer good service.
The Hart Mohawk used be my gas station of choice too, but the service there has been inconsistent for too long. Having to push a button for assistance at the pumps if you are unable to easily get out of your vehicle is ridiculous, and should be illegal.
metalman.
I thought they had excellent people working at the Hart Mohawk. Very Friendly and courteous. A real disapointment..

Eagleone:"This is a critical issue in light of an election called due to the contempt of Parliament ..."

The Teflon Man has yet to admit that his government was defeated due to a non-confidence vote following the ruling of Contempt of Parliament. He keeps saying that the *reckless coalition* did not like his budget and connived to bring down his government. The contempt of parliament verdict was just *some wording of opinion on a piece of paper* according to the two *bickering* sessions, meaning of course the two debates.

Today we find out that the reputation of Helena Guergis was attempted to be ruined by a document of false allegations sent by the PMO's office to the RCMP.

She has been cleared! The Teflon Man will not apologize, of course.

Accountability? What's that?

I would sue for 20 million dollars!
I'm waiting for the Ground Zero mosque to make like a Phoenix. It fell off the radar for now. As for the kid...get ready for more. I predict a trend. Nothing surprises me anymore. Just wait. I sure hope I don't have to hire some people to lift up the snow so I can clean my yard this weekend. That carbon tax sure is working. Just look at all our leftover snow. Climate change? Yup. Getting cooler. Hope it warms up by June.
When can people start to run for city council positions? I would sure like to know who is going to be running this year.
To hell with it...going to the cabin, watch the ice melt, and contemplate life as we know it!
Or should I say...insanity!
Too much political crap lately, and try as I do...I can't seem to keep from watching and listening to it!
I am my own worst enemy, it seems!
A nice scotch and some peace and quiet may change my bad attitude!
There's some ducks out there that I am sure make more sense than our polticians!
No news will be good news!
and the end of the we3ek
and the we3ek shall inherit the spell checker program
metalman.
On this free for all Friday I would just like to say I wish for world peace and that I win the 50 mil tonight...
"When will the few brainless people in this town quit wasting water, watering their snowbanks?"

Is that a trick question?

Everyone knows the answer is when the snow has been melted.

Once it is melted, and the grass has dried out a bit, I am ready to set the dead stuff ablaze .. and keep my hose handy in case of a wildfire about to kill the neighbourhood vegetation ..... :-)

BTW, the water ends up back where it came from. What is wasted, is the electricity used to pump it to the houses.
How many Liberals,NDP or Conservatives does it take to blow up a hot air balloon???
Can someone explain the followings;

To be able to claim the
"Working Income Tax Benefit":
in BC the working income must be
more than $4,750.00 ?

Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec,
New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, NFL,
NWT; the working income must be more
than $3,000.00 ?

In Nunavut has to be more than $ 6,000.00 ?

In Alberta only $2,760.00, and why is that ?

Everyone can see it on the federal form of "T1 General 2010 - Schedule 6 -"
(They have different ones for each
province)
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/formspubs/t1gnrl/menu-eng.html

(Below is BC's only, but you can click
above on each province and see it for
yourselves.)

http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/E/pbg/tf/5010-s6/5010-s6-10e.pdf

If it is a Federal Tax Benefit, why
the amounts are different between the provinces ?

Who is pulling our leg(s)?

All together the current Feds have so
many different "measures" it is hard to
see if one has any benefit at all!
The contempt of Parliment charge against the Conservative Government while **legal** is a **pig in a poke**

The coalition opposition was asking over a period of time for more information from the Government on spending on the CF 35 Airplanes and on prisons.

Additional information was given to the opposition, however they then asked for more. When it was not forthcoming they asked the Speaker of the House to rule that the Government was in **contempt of Parliment**.

The Speaker of the House declined and referred the issue to the appropriate committee for a ruling.

This committee was comprised of 6 Conservatives, 3 Liberals, 2 NDP and 1 Bloc. When the issue came to a vote to determine whether or not the Government was in contempt the vote was 6 to 5 against the Government. The reason the vote passed was because the Chairmen of the committee does not get a vote unless there is a tie. In this case the Chair was a Conservative, and therefore the vote passed.

The issue went back to the floor of the house and the Liberals moved a motion of contempt, which obviously passed because the coalition, opposition has more votes than the Government, and therefore an election was triggered.

Contrary to the musings of some people around the Country this is not a big issue, in fact it is an anomally and would have never happened if we were not in this **stupid** minority position, with the Bloc holding so much power over the other parties.

Ignatieff, and Layton, took the contempt of Parliment route, to defeat the Government, because they did not have the **balls** to defeat the Government on the Budget, which is the way it has been done for hundreds of years. They did not want to accept the responsibility of another election, so they are now pontificating about the contempt of Parliament situation, to take focus away from the fact that they precipitated an election, with a view of somehow forming a coalition Government after the election, because that is the only way they could gain power.

How do we stop these border line nincompoops?? We elect a Majority Conservative Government. This takes the power away from Gile Duceppe, and the Bloc., and forces the Liberals and NDP to either band to-gether as one party (which they are for all intents and purposes) or to sit in opposition for a few years.

Dont listen to the pundits that would have you beleive this **contempt** thing is a big issue. It isnt. The Bloc holding the balance of power in Parliament, NOW that is an issue worth looking into and talking about.
...and a year from now, people wonder:
how come the Conservatives over power, override and change all the laws for
their purpose(s) ?
Who voted them in ???????
Oh... yaa, stupid me!

By the way, it will be tooooo late!!!!
I am bitter with Nothern Health , we have needles on wheels driving around our area looking for people to give needles, condoms and crack pipes to anyone in need. How many other areas have this gas gusler driving their area? How many other citys have a van like this driving around. A neighbour noticed some condoms around a school so phoned Nothern Health and asked if seeing as they were giving out the condoms if they would also be picking them up. The neighbour was told she could pick them up. We got our area cleaned up now Nothern Health and the City is trying to distroy it by putting the unwanted in our area, wonder where the downtown unwanted are hanging out? Victoria St. and area , Thanks a lot. Neighbours we have to start phoning the police when we see a hooker doing business in area and if you can get the JOHNS plate no. Great. Our children deserve better. An out of control eleven year old from someplace else gets tasered the children in my area get tasered every day and no one cares.
The kid that was tazered was one of those poor kids that was never brought up properly or nurtured by caring parents. There are thousands of kids like that in BC. Bridgett Moran spent her lifetime trying to solve this situation with no help from government and the same old "fix". Just throw money at it and close your eyes. We are still doing the wrong thing. I don't know what the right thing is but if you give the job to the government they will *&$#%% it up royaly and make some of their supporters rich in the process. You can count on that!
