Many were lured to the library by Dr Seuss' mischievous cat
Prince George, B.C. - 'The Cat in the Hat' helped to top off the city's marking of B.C.'s 12th Annual Arts & Culture Week.
It was a full house this afternoon at the Bob Harkins branch of the library for a reading of one of the most well-known stories in the world.
Accompanying the tale of Dr. Seuss' most mischievous character were members of the Prince George Symphony Orchestra providing the 'special effects'.
Just prior to the reading, Simon Cole (clarinet), Laszlo Klein (french horn), Lynn Giesbrecht (bassoon), Erica Skowron (oboe), and Don Bond (flute) explained their respective instrument and provided the audience with a sound sample.
The presentation was enjoyed by all on-hand, particularly a small group of little people who took the opportunity to dance along. Click on photo at right for a video clip.
The free concert is part of a new series being offered by the library and PGSO, called Songs & Stories.
