Drugs, toxicology, forensic sciences, all part of a new grade 11 course  in School District 57.  The new class incorporates aspects of science,  social  studies, technology, law, all wrapped up in a package students are hyped about.

What is needed is the Board's recognition that this is a course that  can be put towards graduation.  It's all about fundamental science,  no textbooks, but lots of application.

Chairman Bill Christie says he admits the  C.S.I  aspect caught his attention,  he also noted the teacher who made the presentation has an energy which would also make the course a winner.

Digital photography, hands on lab work, the study of Canadian Law, all part of the class.

The program has all the elements to get students excited about science and learning, and with that in mind the Board has approved the class for graduation credit.

What a great idea. Hats off to whoever came up with this great learning tool.
Ain't it great...
Anytime a practical application can be taught along with a subject, the whole exercise becomes more meaningful. Cudos. Percy
