Final Budget Meeting

City Council returns to budget discussions this evening with some major items to consider.
In addition to considering the Police budget ($16 million) there is also a request for staff increases that would add another $220 thousand to the RCMP budget this year.
The Fire Protection budget calls for $12 million in spending, while the Mayor and Council operating budget is pegged at $554 thousand.
The Capital plans and Debt projections will be discussed at the regular Cpuncil meeting set for the 20th. All of the budget requests that had been deferred will also be discussed at that session.

They also seem to find lots of money for organizations that should be self sufficient through their own memberships and user fees..... RCMP and fire something tells me you aint gonna get what you think you should.
But then who am I to guess these things.......
