An impressive sight, indeed, as a snowy owl sits perched atop a "Stop" sign in the middle of the runway field at the Prince George Airport this past week.

The owl has apparently spent most of the winter scanning the fields for prey and could be seen on two seperate outings this past week.

These pictures were taken by Leah Davis.  Davis, along with her six-year-old daughter, Alyssa, spotted the bird on Wednesday.

According to BCAdventure.com, the snowy owl breeds in northern Alaska and in northernmost Canada, but winters throughout Canada and the northern United States.
