There is a good article in this months Readers Digest on child porn.
People are putting kids between the ages of 6onth and 6 years old in little dog cages and torturing them. A baby boy about 3 months old is raped, and it is all available on film for the kiddy porn crowd.
So, the question I have for OWL is, do you still think there are people that don't deserve to be SSS (shot, shovel & shutup).
I quess I'm just not a lovin carin person all the time.
If you wish to be a vigilante and take the law into your own hands, be my guest. I am simply not part of that type of crowd.

There are 6+ billion people on this earth, and there is very little which will surprise me.
You are a very understanding fellow OWL.
I personally have NO sympathy, compassion, or give a *** when it comes to ANY adult who can intentionally hurt a child. I agree, shoot the bastards, or better yet, drop them from a hovering helicopter onto an island where they can all live in harmony together, one sex per island so no children will come to be harmed. If you are not part of the solution, you ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
I nice meaningless phrase, used far too often.

Why is it used far too often? Because when one really looks at it one will find that many and even most people are part of the solution, so that is not the problem.

The problem is that people are divided into groups in most such cases and cannot agree on a single solution. In fact, sometimes people will even work at cross purposes in selecting the "solution" to a problem.

Of course the "island" thng has been tried many times over throughout history. You might aslo recall that it was not that long ago that people were lobotomized, sterilized, put into homes, etc. based on the assessment of psychiatrists that they could not live a "normal" life and would be a danger to society. Then they discovered "cure-all" drugs. So, we no longer do that, as far as I know.

So, should we be going back to those days?
Disgusting!
Like I said, you are a very understanding fellow OWL.
Here's another phrase that might fit "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
Or maybe, "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything."

You know, it feels strange to be trying to convince someone that Kiddy Porn has to have consequences, and while we exchange fundemental beliefs, somewhere an "artist" is whipping up another kiddy "hurtcore" video. What a strange debate.
Get the Readers Digest March 06, and read Det Sgt Paul Gillespie's story.
"You know, it feels strange to be trying to convince someone that Kiddy Porn has to have consequences"

I am not sure if that is intended for me or not. If it is, no one has to convince me of that.

The consequences I see are arrest, trial, conviction, sentence .....

If you want to argue sentences are too light or are not carried out as intended by the court, I will listen to that and would likely tend to agree from what is made known to us via the media. But I would like to see all the statistical facts first. I simply do not believe "facts" presented by the media since they are filtered. I prefer seeing the actual statistics and making up my own mind based on those.

So, perhaps you have been assuming too much here. I very much believe in law and order ... the one put in place by society, not the one put in place by those who wish to take the law into their own hands.

Injustice and brutality against those who cannot defend themselves must be avoided as best as we can and those responsible for promoting it and causing it need to be dealt with by society so that incidents of such actions are reduced over time.

Caution to sensitive readers ... this is the internet .... smoke and mirrors .... what is real ... what is memorex ... what is a spoof ..... what is an appropriate spoof ....

Now to some more "reality" about children in cages. With all due respect, but Reader's Digest is 20th century technology, the internet is 21st century ...

so, here is the latest story about an incident of children in cages

http://abcnews.go.com/US/LegalCenter/wireStory?id=1678334&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312

we then have this page from a group lobbying to "bring out the truth" about today's psychiatric therapy
http://www.psychiatry.info/deaths-caused-by-psychiatry/psychiatric-treatment-for-children-put-them-in-cages

the same site then speaks about the use of common drugs to "treat" "common syndromes" and the likely deaths they cause without us even seeing any "abuse" ....

http://www.psychiatry.info/the-myth-of-add-adhd-hyperactivity/adhd-drug-strattera-causes-suicidal-thoughts-in-children

finally a site which speaks about a California practice which is apparently on the way out by governmental action.

http://www.psychosurgery.org/2005/02/they-put-children-in-cages-in.html

With the state treating "children" in such a fashion, is it any wonder "experts" called in by a couple in a small Ohio community, who were not being helped by the social services, but appeared to be "fed" more "problem" children by them, are taking the same approach as "professionals" elsewhere are taking?

The world is not black and white, no matter how some would love it to be.
A final note about violent abuse against others:

"... of the 47,000 violent offences reviewed, 43 per cent involved an attack on a family member...."
