The survey to measure shortages in health services throughout the north has completed the information gathering stage, and now moves into the process of sifting through all the data.
Project manager, Chris Leischner says they had a very good response from people throughout the region through focus groups and surveys that were completed on the internet.
Leischner says there is a lot of material to sort through however, a quick look through some of the surveys suggests people believe there is a shortage of dieticians, podiatrists and dermatologists. There also seems to be a perception that there is a shortage of home support workers in the north east of the region, although Leischner says information from other sources would indicate there are enough home care workers to handle the work load in that region.
Leischner says a draft report should be ready by the end of April, and the final report should be complete by the end of June.
