The President of CNC, Ralph Troschke admits there is a division between the Faculty and Administration at CNC. He said the problem exists and “We are always working at trying to obtain a better working arrangement.”

Troschke says “The faculty, on one hand, has its union’s interests and its members at heart, and we have to look at the bottom line and where the college is headed with its programs.”

The Administration has announced that the 24 lay off notices that have gone out to faculty staff will likely result in a reduction of about six people from the faculty.

Meantime, the faculty had called on the administration to review the policy saying to reduce staff only creates a downward spiral in the education opportunities.

Tuition will rise by 2% under the new budget.

The College is funded by an operating grant from the government, tuition fees and special programs and contract revenue.
