Enrollment at UNBC has been fairly flat over the past three years and has declined about 3% from September to September over the last year, according to UNBC spokesman Rob Van Adrichem.

International students at UNBC, meantime, have increased during that period.

International students accounted for 169 of the total enrollment in 2005 and only 127 in 2004.

Tuition fees at UNBC are expected to rise at about 2% this year at the university according to Van Adrichem.

CNC says it has seen a drop of about 10 to 12 % of their (total)student enrollment over the past five years.
The Ministry of Advanced Education site indicates that when the enrollments in just "base" programs  are compared, the drop  is  significantly higher.  According to the site, on November 1 of 2002, there were  4,094 students taking base programs at the College of New Caledonia.  On November 1,2005, that had dropped by 700 students to 3,392.
