There are ripples from the wake of a forum aimed at raising questions for community survival post Mountain Pine Beetle.
A call is now out for interested parties to attend a meeting to set up similar forums in smaller communities throughout the north. It is hoped the series of forum will discuss and develop broad proposals that will address what is needed to renew the region and guarantee its future.
This series of forums will lead up to a region wide conference tentatively set for late summer, early fall. Organizers say the "Stand Up for The North" movement is non-partisan and will hopefully develop made-in-the-north proposals that all the people of the region can get behind and support.
The organizational meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday, March 20th at 3477 15th Avenue. The Faculty Association Office not CNC.
