The Quality of Life Survey results have been presented to Council.  The  survey was conducted in October of 2005 .  The survey was sent out to 2500 homes.  With  519 respondents,  that was below the number who took part in the '98 survey (723).

The average age of participants in 2005 was 51.   In 1998, the average age was 46.

One person had commented on their survey that "If you think the air quality is bad now, you should have been here in the 60's and 70's when there were more  mills running and no dusters."

On Questions about Food:
40.1% say they grow their own fruit or vegetables
65.8% say they never hunt or fish

Those who don't use the system  say the would recycle if there was a curbside service
Majority said they would be willing to pay $5 a month  for curbside recycling
