Riverstone Pub and Grill Gets 2 Out of 3

The new Riverstone Pub and Grill located in the City Gate site at 15th and Central, will get part of it's request.

The new restaurant wanted to add patio space,  (bringing total seats to 130) and extend its hours of operation.  Right now it is licensed to operate from noon till 2a.m. Monday Through Saturday, and 11 am to Midnight Sunday.  The request was to change the hours  to 11 till 2 a.m.  all week.

City Staff  told Council they had no problem with a patio or serving liquor an hour earlier in the day, as the changes wouldn't likely have any impact on the neighbours.  However, when it comes to extending the hours for Sunday till 2 in the morning, Staff  fear that will have an impact, and advised against it.

The applicant has no problem with the decision, saying "We would love it if there was business to support service till 2 a.m. Sunday, but  if we don't get it, that's o.k."

Council followed the Staff recommendations and gave the facility the  expanded seats, the Monday  to Saturday 11 a.m to 2 a.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to midnight hours.
