The dates for a disciplinary tribunal  for a former Prince George RCMP officer have been set.

Constable Justin Harris will face the tribunal October 2nd and 6th,  and November 20th and 24th. The location has yet to be decided.

Harris is one of two  RCMP officers who had been under a cloud of suspicion over possible involvement  with young prostitutes in Prince George.  The  allegations surfaced following the Judge David Ramsey case.  Ramsey was sentenced to 7 years for his involvement with young prostitutes in P.G.

After investigating the allegations against the officers, the Crown  decided late last fall there wasn't enough evidence to proceed with criminal charges.

The results of the internal investigation were handed over to the Deputy Commissioner of the RCMP, Beverly Busson.

After reviewing the file, she allowed one officer to return to work without facing any discipinary action,  but decided the other would have to go before a tribunal, which has now been set.

Harris has been suspended without pay since September of 2004.  The tribunal will be open to the public, and will involve three commissioned officers from a detachment other than the one where the officer was stationed.

See, this blows my mind.....I can almost bet that public input will be minimal and having your own be your judge and jury? Hogwash! I say bring him up on charges and let the criminal justice system do what it does best....Convict and then give him 3yrs and let him walk in 1yr....
