Prince George Airport Pressing for More International Flights

The marketting line for the Airport is "Our future is taking off", and so far, so good.
To begin with, talks continue with Horizon Air, in an effort to set up a Prince George to Seattle flight. Talks are also on going with Sky Service which operates flights for some top international vacation tour operators like Signature and Sunquest.
Within two weeks, parking at the aiport will be on the road to improving as the area currently occupied by rental vehicles will be used for general parking. That will increase parking space by 25%.
The Aiport Authority also got some good news from Transport Canada. When the Airport Authority took over the P.G. Airport it was on the hook for more than $4 million dollars worth of chattels. Repayment of that loan was supposed to start within two years, but Transport Canada has forgiven the loan.
That, says the Airport's General Manager Stieg Hoeg, clears the way for the Airport to have a little more financial breathing room and to consider some other projects, including runway expansion.
