Crews are back at work at a North Nechako Home more than a month after City Hall forced an end to the work over building permit issues
Construction has resumed on a North Nechako Road home now that a building permit has been issued.
The permit was officially granted Monday afternoon after the Home Warranty Office produced the necessary paperwork confirming the builder was covered by the Home Warranty program. The City is not allowed to issue a permit until it has that paperwork from the Home Warranty Office.
Construction on the home was stalled over the issuing of a building permit. A permit had been granted last August, but it was only to put in the foundation.
Construction then continued, says the contractor, so that with the onset of cold weather, the new concrete foundation wouldn't be compromised by the cold.
The contractor, Peter Crolow of Norcan Construction, was under the impression the full permit had been issued, but, as he told Council back on February 20th he should have looked after things personally, "Its like the Chinese proverb, if two men each agree to feed a horse, the horse will die."
