I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for reading this post today, because  you have lead the way for our success. It simply isn’t possible to reach out and shake everyone’s hand, but if it were possible, I would.

From November 4th, 2005 until March 4th-2006 we have doubled our readership. From March 3rd until March 24th, we had increased our audience by more than 50%.  That is no small feat.

I have asked the Web master to come with the results on print so that we at Opinion 250 can produce them for you, but as of this past week we feel comfortable in saying that we have now exceeded over 3,000,000 page views since we began back on May 13th 2005.

The reason we use page views is because it gives us an exact count, while on the other hand the words you hear such as "unique i.p's" (while certainly a yard stick) can be misleading.

Some companies, and there are operations within this region that include on their "unique hits" count the number of times a page had been "refreshed".  I’m no computer wizard, (as a matter of fact anything but ) you could simply sit there, hitting the refresh button, to come up with what ever number you wanted.

We don’t , nor will we ever, use that method of calculation.

On the other hand, when you use the unique approach you lose a lot of your audience because, say for example, you work at a large government or private business. Many only have one IP address, so when you , along with the fifty or so others who access the site from that same business, log on, it never counts for more than one "unique" hit , hence the reason why when you use page views you tend to get a better read.

Now before you all stomp all over me, forgive me, I am not Shane Redlick, I am a writer and as of late ,a salesman ,trying to assist wherever I can .

What I can say with great certainty is the fact that we are growing leaps and bounds throughout this area.  That is because you have made us your home page and like the kind of news and information we are presenting to you.

By the way ,that doesn’t mean that we still don’t need your help .  Register and comment about subjects that you think need airing.  After all, we will only be as good as you make us .

Once again thanks for your help

I’m Meisner and that is one man's opinion.

Well, it's a damned good news and views site, and getting better. Quit being so modest Ben. Congratulations all.
I get the citizen, free press papers etc....and still i find i get more from this site.

Between Opinion 250 and CBC radio as i drive, Ihear and read all the news I need. So am going to ask the free press to stop delivery, and cancel my Citizen as well.

Great Job folks !
I lived in PG for twenty years, but moved out many years ago. I used to get my fix of PG through the Citizen's website and my favorite has always been reading editorials and opinions. A few years ago the Citizen removed access to their opinion section. Thanks 250. Now I'm back in the know.
This site is as good for us as you Ben.Sence I started reading it and the comments I have a better understanding of my fellow P.Gers.And maybe just maybe it can be a sold front for all to stand on and come together on some important issues.
i enjoy the read, concise and to the point.
great job.
I stumble across this site while googling for a recent news event for Prince George. I love having a quick source for local news that I can access at anytime. So far I have found the news up to date and relevant. Good work! I just think you need to get the word out more as this is great local resource.
Ben, this is a great site. I used to listen to your show every day on the radio and I was very disappointed when you left. I am surprised the other station in town did not offer you a talk show there, because they could use some help in the morning, but that's life. Keep up the great work.
Although at times, things seem to get a little off track.

The point of the columns is timely, relevant and important events of the day that we want to hear about.

It is the best source of current information I have access to right now and I appreciate it. Thanks Ben, Elaine and team. Percy
