It is expected the final agreement that will spell out, to the penny, the timelines and costs for the building of the Northern Sport Centre, will be signed soon.
That agreement will guarantee the final cost, regardless of any upward changes in the price of labour or materials.
The Province, City and University of Northern B.C. have committed a total of $30.5 million dollars to the project, with $20.5 million from the Province, $5 million from the City and $5 million from the University. The City has put forth a request to the Regional District, and to the Northern Development Trust to share in that funding committment.
It is expected the site plans will be completed before the end of April and the actual tree removal to be underway shortly thereafter.
The Northern Sport Centre is expected to be completed in 2007.
