Safety Bear salutes while City Councilors are handed garbage bags to begin picking up litter.
City Hall, says Spring Clean Up "Starts With You", but at City Hall today, it started with "them"
The Mayor, Councilors, and local groups all on hand to "pitch in" and promote this Sunday's spring clean up that is slated from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It's easy to participate — just register on line or call the Service Centre at 561-7600 to register over the phone. The City will provide you with garbage bags and gloves.
Garbage disposal sites will be set up throughout the City:
-Vacant city land on 5th Avenue, west of Tabor Boulevard
-Frontage Road near mail boxes at Vanway
-Pump station at Andres Road on Ospika Boulevard
-Old snow dump site at Hudson's Bay Slough
-Vacant city land on 2nd Avenue and George Street
-Watrous Park
-College Heights Secondary School

There will be bins at these sites to handle garbage and litter, not compostable material or garden waste.
Garden waste can be taken free of charge to the Foothills Landfill site, or the Quinn Street and Vanway Transfer Stations. Please, no hazardous materials or large household items. Bin locations will be monitored to ensure no hazardous waste is dropped off.
