The Houston Health Care Centre is close to being able to provide 24 hour emergency service, 7 days a week.

Health Services Administrator, Andrew McLetchie says they are close to  finding the one extra registered nurse needed to extend the services.  "We are currently able to provide 12 hour service 7 days a week from 8:30  in the morning to 8:30 at night" says MacLetchie.  That is a major leap from the 8:30 - 12:30 service that  used to be provided.

It is hoped the  RN recruitment will be complete within a month or so.  Typically,  the Houston Health Care Centre handles 120 patients per week through planned an unplanned visits.
