The numbers are in and look good. P.G. Transit hit the one millionth  rider this year, and now there's news the system is saving dollars.

With operating expenses down, and revenues up, the PG Transit system has a savings of about $46 thousand dollars, money which the Transportation Division advised should be reinvested in improving transit services.

The Transportation Division says revenue increased by more than 10% over the past year. Balanced off with increases in debt servicing and the cost of a new shuttle service, the Transit budget ends up being about $46 thousand dollars in the black.

The improvements suggested focus on increasing service on Routes 1 and 15 to accommodate student overloads at UNBC, (at a cost of $14,500) and providing a basic Sunday service September to December for $31,800.

Council approved the reinvestment.
