Getting set for the Royal Bank Cup, the Host Committee for the 2007 National Junior A Hockey Championship has welcomed its first major sponsor.
Host Committee Co Chair, Don Kehler, welcomed James Western Star Sterling Ltd as a Gold level sponsor "With the support of James Western Star Sterling, we are one step closer to hosting the best ever RBC Royal Bank Cup" said Kehler.
The company is a leader in the trucking industry, and President Bryan James says aligning with the 2007 hockey championship was a natural choice "Hockey is the very heart of Prince George and we are pleased to give something back to this community." His company donated $30 thousand dollars to the event.
The host committee is said to be very close to securing several other major sponsors, and hopes to have more announcements in the near future.
The 2006 RBC Cup starts in 9 days in Ontario.
