Doctors in B.C. have overwhelmingly accepted their six year agreement with the Provinice. They voted 94 % in favour of the deal.
The package addresses annual payment, specialist disparity and sets the stage for the development of a relationship between the physicians, health authorities and the government.
The President of the BC Medical Association, Dr.Miochael Golbey says that relationship is an important part of the overall package “Among other benefits, doctors voted for the opportunity to contribute to the decisions being made about health care in B.C. This means physicians’ concerns and recommendations will be heard, and patients’ needs will be in the forefront.”
3,561 physicians voted on the 6 year deal.
The BCMA also chose to reinvest part of the early signing incentive into information technology.
