Nurses O.K. Contract

First it was the Doctors, now, word, the Nurses have ratified a new, 4 year collective agreement.
The Nurses Bargaining Associaition says 55% of its membership voted on the deal, and of that number, 97.1 % voted to accept the contract.
Here is how their ballots broke down:
In favour 13,289
Against 397
Spoiled ballots 88
Health Employers ratified the nurses’ agreement on April 7, 2006.
Louise Simard, president and CEO of the Health Employers Association of BC, says the agreement not only covers wages, but working conditions"It sets out key steps to improve health-care service delivery, such as financial encouragement for nurses to work nights and weekends, initiatives to attract nurses to work in difficult to fill positions, as well as allowing employers and government to work closely with nurses on workload issues.”
The Nurses Bargaining Association says it will now focus on ensuring the working conditions part of the contract is honored.
