The 2008 North Central Municipal Convention will be held in Prince George.
The new NCMA President, Craig Caruso, City Councillor with the District of Stewart,  says he knows Prince George is up to the job " Every time the Annual General Meeting is held in Prince George the City raises the bar for those who host future Conventions.”
The NCMA is an association of local governments whose mission is to address issues, and to move forward those initiatives for the benefit of its members.
Mayor Colin Kinsley is happy  P.G.  got the nod "Our community has proven itself as B.C.’s Northern Capital.  Supporting the NCMA and its member organizations has and will continue to be a priority for our community and I am so pleased we were successful in having the opportunity to showcase our community to the Association’s members in two years’ time.”

"Our community has proven itself as B.C.’s Northern Capital"

I wish we could move on from pretending to be something we do not have the mandate to be. I am sure it grates on many of those living in the northern half of the province rather than in the middle of it, and it grates on those who see us in the same light as we see the lower mainland when such words are used. It is not a "positive" message to send out to those in the "North" of this province.
