Prince George RCMP say they’ve been dealing with a weekend of road rage.

It started with an incident Saturday when  they got a report of an “aggressive driver” in the Domano- Highway 16  area.   Police say   the driver of a blue pick up cut off a vehicle while changing lanes, then swore at the driver he had just cut of.  Police located and talked with their suspect.

Then earlier today, there was a report of  a driver traveling at excessive speed along North Nechako Road, and passing unsafely.  Police are waiting to talk with their suspect in that one.

A short time later, a driver was traveling on 15th Avenue near Central and was cut off by another vehicle.   When stopped, the driver of an older model Oldsmobile got out of his car, walked back to the vehicle that had been cut off, yelled at that driver, then reached in the window and slapped the driver in the face.  This one is now being investigated as an assault in addition to aggressive driving.

Police are issuing a reminder that all complaints of Aggressive drivers will be investigated and charges may be laid under the motor vehicle act, or under the Criminal Code.

I think that it is almost time that the courts remove the licence if these people who can not control their tempers. I fear that it may have to take someone, who is close to the lawyers or judges to get hurt before something happens. Pity!
Keep in mind, it isn't the lawyers and judges who design sentences. The Court can only administer what is already set out in our laws. It is the government which decides what the sentence can be, so maybe we should be putting the pressure on the politicians?
Remember, it's a $500 fine or three months in jail if you don't fill out a form that tells the government a bunch of unless stuff that they know already.
And that's the stuff that concerns the government, not some bad civil behavoir which really concerns the rest of the population. If you don't fill out the form you don't just get a chat with the baby-sitters, you get to see the judge and it'll cost $500 bucks.
