A fire has destroyed the home of Shannon Weinhardt on Kenny Dam Road south of Vanderhoof. No one was home when the fire started. 

The fire was reported at 6:00 pm and the Vanderhoof Forestry fire crews attended. The farmhouse was outside of the boundaries of the Vanderhoof Volunteer Fire Department. 

It is thought that the fire started in the kitchen.  

The four-story farmhouse was built in 1979, and was fully insured.
