A Edmonton man has been released from custody pending a court appearance in Quesnel into an incident in which an 18 year old girl from Prince George was run over while in a tent at Chubb Lake, 45 miles south of Prince George.

Police say the young woman received significant but not life threatening injuries in what police have described as a prank.  Her friends drove her to PGRH where police say she was treated and released.

Earlier in the day police had been called to a disturbance at the camp ground and the young man had been arrested for being involved in that disturbance.

During their investigation of the girl in the tent being run over,  police determined that both incidents had involved the same  young man.

He is now under investigation for impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving. He has been released from custody with a court appearance set for July 11th in Quesnel.

His name has not been released pending the formal laying of charges.
