Ice Oval Details To Be Revealed

Prince George City Council will hear from the Outdoor Ice Oval Society this evening, as the Society presents its business case for the $7.6 million dollar project.  The Society is presenting its case complete with projected revenues and expenses for the first year of operation.

Also on the agenda:

-Letter from the Chinese Secretary of External Affairs, Chinese Skating Association

-presentation from Team Torino on the trip to the Olympics

-presentation from the Price George Airport Authority on its annual report and its plans

-bylaw variance application from Pine Centre Mall to make one sign taller, and add two more to their site

-application for a land use contract amendment to callow the development of a liquor store at the corner of 5th and Ospika

-application from Costco to amend zoning text to allow for the sale of all terrain vehicles.      Such a change would also allow Superstore and Princess Auto to start selling the same.

-City to receive award for “clean Air”

-Citizens to be named for 2006 B.C. Community Achievement Awards

"clean air" more like hot air.

I oppose the liquor store at 5th and Ospika. The neighborhood already has a growng crack house problem in the immediate area around the current store and three other liquor stores within the 2km radius. What happened to the 2km bylaw. It was ammended for JJ's and I don't think it should be ammended again for that neighborhood.
