KGV Demolition Contract to Be Awarded Today

School District 57 says it  will announce today the  awarding of the contract for the demolition of KGV.  The  District says the actual work won't start until July, well after exams at Duchess Park, and should be complete early in September.

The School District  continues its discussions on plans for a new Duchess Park Secondary School. 

The District wants the School to be large enough to comfortably accommodate 900 students. That would allow Duchess Park to  increase its number of French Immersion students.  The Ministry of Education is looking at a plan that would  accommodate  just 600 students.
