As Prince George City Council gets set to meet Monday night to talk one more time about the Hockey Enforcers, the Prince George Chamber of Commerce is willing to offer up the opinion of its membership.
Late last week, the President of the Chamber sent out a survey to all members asking for input on the impact, positive or negative of having the Battle of the Hockey Enforcers go ahead on August 27th. When Council voted to cancel the event , the Chamber decided to hold back on releasing the results of the survey for fear of impacting a lawsuit.
Chamber President Gordon says he would be willing to present the survey results to Council at the Monday night meeting if Council requested the information. He says he will be in attendance at Monday's session in the event there are questions. Gordon says nearly 200 businesses completed the survey.
Mayor Kinsley has the authority to reintroduce the matter to Council and is planning to do so. He has also held talks with the promoter ( post cancellation vote) about putting an age restriction on the event, making it open to only those who are 19 and over. Promoter Darryl Wolski has agreed to that condition, but has made it clear his company has huddled with its lawyers and legal action is being contemplated.
