West Fraser's Fraser Lake Mill Suffers Another Fatal Accident

Operations at West Fraser’s Fraser Lake mill returned to normal last night following a fatal accident at the mill on Friday.  

Manuel Dasilva of Fraser Lake is the worker who succumbed to the injuries he received in the accident.   He was in his mid forties.

WCB have been called in to investigate the accident. This is the second death at the facility in the past two years, the third death in the past nine years. 

Lindsay Santos died at the facility  in the summer of 2003,  it's been nearly nine years since Kelly  Goetz died at the mill .  

No information has been made available as to the cause of death and the mill has not released any further details.

Our unsung hero's that die for the sake of profit. Like most accidents it always seems to be human error. The facts are that most deaths are the cause of the lack of proper training in the work place both skill and safety.
