Nevermind the national competition to find out which Canadian town would be hockeyville.

Tonight, that honour belongs to Raleigh, North Carolina.

The Hurricanes beat  the Edmonton Oilers  3-1 to grasp Lord Stanley’s Cup.

Police in Edmonton have been  put on alert, just in case the Oilers won, but if they were expecting a wild victory party, there’s no telling what they will get in the wake of defeat!

The Hurricanes deserve it, they were the better team. They also had classier Fans.
Classier fans???? Instead of booing the anthems, these fans sang loudly in a show of respect for the USA and hockey. Even the Yankees couldn't believe it. Don't let the whyte avenue idiots deminish what was a truly incredible fan performance at Rexal Place. Remember the Vancouver fans booing the US anthem at the world Juniors. Montreal booing the US anthem whenever it's played. This playoff run will mark the high water mark for fan participation for years to come.
